Hi! I’m Elyse. I’m a labor and deliver nurse turned lawyer. I have practiced law for the past 30 years, but have now found my passion in playing and teaching Canasta! I am a Certified Canasta Instructor and I have taught over 1200 people this exciting game!
Why do I teach?
I teach Canasta because I am passionate about the game. I have learned through the years that Canasta is not a game of luck, but rather a game of strategy, with chance playing a small role in it. Once you understand the rules and strategize properly, winning becomes more frequent and deliberate.
Why should you take lessons from me?
What differentiates my lessons from other instructor’s lessons is that I teach strategy from Day 1, so that it becomes part of your playing from the start.
- We have lots of laughs while learning;
- I serve yummy snacks and wine when necessary!
- I can teach out of my Upper West Side, NYC apartment or come to you or stay home and I will teach you and your friends via Zoom!
Come with a group of friends or come alone. You can also find me teaching at the 92nd St. Y in NYC, the JCC Manhattan, Hollywood Country Club and various locations throughout NYC and NJ and anywhere USA via Zoom!
